The North Carolina Bar Association created the Law Student Division on June 20, 1985, to encourage students’ development of legal skills, assist in the transition from legal education into the larger world of legal practice, and provide positive links between law students and the NCBA.
The NCBA Law Student Division understands the importance to law students of establishing their career paths, gaining networking opportunities and developing leadership skills. The NCBA offers students attending an ABA-accredited law school (or a law school seeking ABA accreditation) free membership, discounted continuing legal education attendance, free subscription to North Carolina Lawyer, CLE Bulletin and Law Student Bulletin, and an opportunity to join specialty sections.
The division with currently 2328
members sponsors CLE programs and services; provides members with a substantive newsletter; and helps mold the association's legislative agenda for presentation to the N.C. General Assembly. The newsletter, the Law Student Division Bulletin, offers an index of its articles and CLE topics.
